Cars are expensive in Thailand compared to most things. The Japanese have gotten a firm foothold manufacturing Toyotas,  Isuzu and Mitsubish on Thai soil. Honda do well also.

Every Taxi is a Toyota. Air con is essential and a given.

Thai culture is strange to most you will see the indigenous living in relatively squallid conditions, but still driving a very nice truck like a Toyota Fortuner which in most cases will cost more than their house! The car is very much more a status than their home.

So before you think you can but a decent RS4 and export it to Thailand think again, as the price for an Audi RS4 is like at least twice the price as it is in Europe, and by the time you have got it to the border the taxes will make it 3 times the price.

I heard of someone once sending whole US  motorbikes in bits each month, and then re-assembling them on  the Thai side and then walking off into the sunshine. Good idea but I think it's more down to folklore than judgement.
